Air Berlin Alexanderplatz e.V. Friedrichstraße 23A 10969 Berlin

ABA Air Berlin Alexanderplatz is an exploratory platform that serves as the foundation for the guest program AiR—an international artistic research residency. Founded in 2010 by artists Susanna Kriemann and Aleksander Komarov, ABA emerged from earlier Salons co-conceived with other artists, researchers, scholars, musicians, or individuals from different fields and institutions. ABA explores new and unconventional ways of interact with art, such as the one-hour Air Salon broadcasted every third Tuesday of the month through Colaboradio on Freie Radios Berlin (88.4 MHz in Berlin), the Book Salon in the container on Alexanderplatz (Hds,) a text(file)-sharing space that allows artists to access curated reading materials and interact with text, VHS-Salon for collective video viewing in a group environment and WON Salon a program focuses on alternative narratives of the environment and sustainability in politically charged events. The activity of ABA consists of the conception, curation and implementation of various events and presentation formats. Organising Salons, promoting publications, organising artist talks(LAB), ABAAir(Radio), supervising a residency program, maintaining the ABA Archive and finally managing the BFSCA (Berlin Field School of Contemporary Art).
